When most of us dream of our happily-ever-afters, visions of our favorite fairytales tend to dance in our heads. Still, making a day fit for a storybook is no easy task. Texas bride, Margaret, however, decided to make her dream a reality when she married her long-distance prince. With a castle in England, royal purple hues, and the most beautiful bridesmaids, this romantic day was truly fit for a forever together!
Rosalie Convertible Dress: Lavender Tulle
"My favorite part of the day was as George and I walked out of the church as man and wife, the church bells began ringing and all of our wedding party and family came out the door behind us. We were all hugging, some crying and well...it was just pure joy. With the church bells, the beautiful church, laughing and hugging all my favorite people...my heart was so full. It felt like a dream." -Margaret, Bride
I saw a picture on Pinterest of the most beautiful purple bridesmaid dresses I had ever seen. It didn't have a link to Revelry, but I hunted down the image online until I found my dream dress! I had pinned dozens of dress ideas but once I found that photo, nothing else compared. I loved the romantic off-the-shoulder look and the tulle photographed beautifully. I chose lavender because the purple I saw in that photo was very unique. I had originally thought I wanted blue but that specific shade was just gorgeous.
Our wedding in the English Countryside was an absolute fairytale. From the 700-year-old church and country manor house to the flowing tulle and twinkling lights, everything was perfect and beautiful.
Planning a wedding from overseas was really difficult, if I'm being totally honest. Everything took longer as email communication was delayed with the time difference. We had to convert the currency for the budget and I was working with vendors from both America and England. We had a specific time I was legally allowed to enter the country before getting married because of my visa requirements, so I only had a few days to shop for and choose a venue before having to travel back to the states. Most other bookings were made unseen from Texas!
When I looked at George while walking down the aisle, I just thought that the 4 years of missing each other, travelling back and forth across oceans and all the struggles we had been through as a long-distance couple had all led up to this walk towards him now. I had pictured the moment for so long, and the happiness and relief it would bring, that we were finally together forever. All those emotions flooding in literally took my breath away. I was trying very hard not to cry as to not "ruin" the photos!
"My favourite part of the day was turning around to see Margaret walking down the aisle to me. It was a mixture of so many emotions." - George, Groom
